Pain in my Heel.

Anyone have any idea what this may be?

When wearing shoes, I have no pain, but when walking barefoot, my right heel hurts directly on the bottom of the heel where the heel strikes the ground.

It sucks, I'm walking around my house on my toes.

When did it start happening? Was it after a run?

Does the pain still occur in something flat like slippers or just barefoot? Did you check your heel for a splinter or maybe some glass?

Started while moving to a new house this week.

No, it's a bone like pain, nothing stuck in my foot.

My shoes all have fair to good arch support. The ones that didn't have inserts in them.

Your neighbors are cursing you ala warlock for roaring up and down the street on your bike.

I'm reading up on that, and that sounds likely. Strange, though. I have only one possible cause: The increased activity with the move.

And I see nothing about it not hurting with shoes, but hurting barefoot.

You must be moving into one of the more well to do neighborhoods.

The HOAs there have their own witches on retainer. How do you think they keep the Walmarts away?

From http://www.ourfootdoctor.com/yourfeet_plantarfasciitis.shtml

Frequent barefoot walking stresses the Plantar Fascia. Shoes with a supportive arch, well protected heel, and good sole provide some shock absorption for the Plantar Fascia. Without this shock absorption, Plantar Fasciitis and Heel Spurs may occur.

Well, hot damn. I never wear shoes in the house to save my floors and carpet.

Oh well, I have a spare pair of new sport sandles with good arch support. I guess I'll break those out and make them house slippers.

Have you gained weight? I heard that increased weight contributes to foot problems.

it's been hurting for a week? i'd give it a few days to heal, but if the pain doesn't go away, go see a doctor. you may have an infection or something that you naturally cannot detect with the naked eye.

I believe there are house slippers out there with decent arch support (IIRC, Isotoners). It might be less wear on carpet than sport sandles (even if you don't wear them outside).

I wear a pair of TempurPedic slippers around the house to avoid that exact same pain. But it's only on my right foot though.

Nope. In fact, over the past week, I've lost 5 lbs.
