GO TO THE DOCTOR.

Why does everyone come here with medical problems and ask what to do. What is this ATOTMD
statndard rule of thumb when you are sick or have a medical problem. Seek medical help!!!!

jammed your finger? see if you can move it a bit more tomorrow, and if by 2 days you can pretty much use it regularily then you should be fine.

of course one time i broke my finger and i didn't know it (thought it was jammed) and it took about 3-4 months to heal (hey you never really use your pinky) until i saw a doctor on a routine checkup and he figured out i'd broken it 2 months earlier, but said that it should be fine.

How are we supposed to know? If you want, wait a few days and then if it doesn't fall off or try to attack you, then you'll probably be fine.

wait 1 day, if it's not excruciating pain. if you're in excruciating pain every time you do as much as touch the finger then see one.

Go get a popcicle, eat it, then use the stick as a splint. Keep it elevated and take some Ibuprofin.

No I'm not a doctor but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

If you're hand's crampin' up, you just need to stop all those 'hand intensive' activities.

I don't run to the doctor for every little thing either. I bought a few medical books to help with the basic stuff. Otherwise, I just have my mom kiss it to make it better. :p

Finger Injuries
  • Find torn or missing tissue and save it, if possible.
Gently rinse it off with water if it is very dirty, and place it in a sealed plastic bag.
Place the bag on ice water and bring it with you to the hospital.
Cover the wound with a clean, dry bandage.

Everyone runs to the doctor for every little problem right away. Not everyone has insurance.

But, if the pain persists, I would at least check it out. I hurt my hand playing football, the other person fell backwards and ended up kicking my hand. It's been over a year, and well I never went to the doctor, it still hurts if I move it the wrong way. I don't think it will ever be 100%, so if you want it better, go see a doctor.
