PAgP or LACP?

I'm setting EtherChannel / PortChannel on our core switch.

In the past we've been using PAgP, but I'm just curious on what others are using and what their prefrences are and why?
Is one better than the other technically wise?

We plan on using LACP from now on since it's IEEE standard.

PAgP if you're using cisco. You get more visibility and control.

no reason whatsoever to use link aggregation unless you are trying to channel to a non-cisco device.

99% of our network equipment are Cisco.

What do you mean by "visibility and control"? Please give examples in technical terms.
Thanks!

PAgP does have more info...
Any way to eliminate STP calculation everytime I add or remove a port from the channel group?

you shouldn't have spanning-tree calculations. The port is considered a single port by spanning-tree.

That's one of the main reasons to use channeling.

The one benefit of using LACP with 6500s is that there is the min-links feature. This way the entire channel will be taken down if the channel loses too many ports and the HA path can take over.
