We need 2 pagers that have the ability to receive email notifications. Here is our scenario:

Person receives an email in their inbox from a certain email address. As soon as that email is received, we need a notification sent to the pager telling the person that their is a new message from that certain email address (or if it could just forward the same email to the pager that would be fine as well).

I know their are cell phones/PDA's with this capability, but are their pagers that can do this too...?

Now that I think about it, if the pager had the ability to receive the email directly that would be fine too because I can switch which email address the notifications will be sent to anyway.

I know that many major phone carriers dont even support pagers anymore... its almost cheaper to have a cell phone. I know one IT security guy who uses some sort of nextel device just for everything *except* phone calls.... mabye they'll have something you can use.

I'd ask the mods to move this to general hardware if I were you- you should run into people who know the topic a little better, and since this isn't troubleshooting... seems fair to me.

Good luck

Also, the timex pager watch can take email up to 100 characters long. see www.timex.com I think it is called the internet messenger watch. Comes with a year of free skytel service, too!
