Pagefile location?

I have a 70gb 10,000rpm SATA Raptor with windows and all programs/games on it, and a 250gb 7200rpm Maxtor with only data on it. On which drive should the pagefile be for best performance?

considering windows acces the page file regulary even when it does not have to use it i would say the fallowing:

1. you have enough memory for the apps you run, and it is very rare that on you'r pattern of use large amount of memory will be allocated to the page-file, then you should keep it on the Raptor.

2. if you'r data drive is not under heavy load most of the time (ie idle most of the time) then the page file should be there.

example1: if you do photos editing the and you dont run out of memory, the page-file would better of on the Maxtor
example2: if you do video editing on large movie files you shold keep page-file on the Raptor.

IMO in gaming, i dont think you will see a big difference.

I usually setup my page file on my 2nd drive, in your case, the data drive. However, if you are really worried about it, why not just create a page file on both?
