Page size problem

There is something wrong with the coding of some of the forum pages. The first time I enter a forum in an IE session, the navigation pane appears but I have to scroll down through a large blank space to see the actual message list. Once I've read a thread and return to the main page, everything is fine.

This started after the most recent "upgrade" and has never been fixed. I suspect that there is a parameter somewhere that needs more than the maximum 768 pixel width supported on my standard aspect laptop. Whatever is going on, could someone please fix it?

I have it with IE 6.0 at work and others with 6.0 have reported the same problem. I have resorted to hiding the table on the left. That moves the threads back up to the top of the page where they belong.
I don't have he issue with IE 7.0, FF 2.0 or NS 9.0.

Same issue here:

I.E. 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254CO
SP2 and all updates

Don't tell me to "update" I.E. I work for a 200,000+ person corporation and this is what IT gives us.

Yes, the laptop is running IE6. As I noted though, it only started after the forum software was updated. I never saw anything like this before then.
