PhII 945 - 8GB RAM

System Managed;
Size of File = 7677
Recommended Size 11515

Would it be advisable to set;
Min = 7677
Max = 11515

Appreciate your time

Actually, I was curious why I don't see the recommended size even when the file is "system managed".

IMO, just leave it to system managed. Very debated topic, many opinions on this one.

It's just blast from the past. I've been running with no paging file on 3 pcs for months. No problems of any sort. 16/8/4 GB of ram.

You need a swap file for compatibility with some software, but it doesn't need to be large. The old rule of thumb was to have a swap file large enough for a full memory dump, but in your case it would be ridiculous. Myself, I'd set a static swap of 2048 and just forget about it. Trust me, you won't have any problems.

I do not recommend you go without a swap file. Not from any performance standpoint. 2 GB of hard disc space is hardly much and if you ever run into programs requiring one it's one less potential headache.

Unless you have a 40GB SSD and are starving for space...lol. I've been running my HTPC (w/30GB SSD) with no page file for a year now with no ills whatsoever.

My main rig with 8GB/X6 has been running perfectly for months too.
