Since it's Mother's Day and dad's bday on the same day, instead of going out in the swarms of mother's day crowds to a restuarant I thought I would make a huge pot of paella and fresh sangria. Good idea? I also got dad a bottle of rum he's been wanting to try.

I bought chicken, chorizo, shrimp, mussels, scallops as the meats forthe paella, and the mixings to make mom a carrot cake.

Yum, sounds good, do you have nice saffron?

Also, rum isn't exactly the best thing to pair with all of that but if he likes rum he shouldn't care.

I do have a little plastic box of real threads, should be good stuff :)

The rum will probably be for after dinner or whenever he wants to try, sangria is for the meal. Is this a suitable present including both of them?
