Paczki Donuts (Polish doughnuts)

they're filled w/blueberry filling. or rasberry, or custard, etc.

at one of my supermarkets, Jelly-filled doughnuts donuts are 6 for $3.

Mardi Gras- Fat Tuesday:
Traditionally, the reason for making paczki has been to use up all the lard, sugar and fruit in the house, which are forbidden during Lent. They are eaten especially on Fat Thursday, the last Thursday before Lent (Polish: Tlusty czwartek, not to be confused with Fat Tuesday or Shrove Tuesday).

re-labeling jelly filled donuts and selling w/bigger markup FTL?

Donuts are starting to get pricey. A dozen will set you back 6.49 at Dunkin Donuts.

In my experience, they taste better (dough has different consistency).

But even if that is my subjective opinion and it cannot be supported by objectivity, then the fall back is: "People are willing to pay high prices for something that is exotic. Therefore the market adjusts for that."

I would. Natural disaster occurs and what are you going to do with your gold? You can't eat it.

OMG thats what you and your republican overlords wanted, overpriced donuts. Its the Zen for Ten, soon we'll be paying $10 a dozen to our fat cats in the midwest to produce wheat for our donuts. I told you this was going to happen.

A weak dollar and increased prices on commodities make everything more expensive.

Oh come on, paczkis have never been cheap, they were always a premium doughnut made and sold commonly sold before Lent.
But wait.. they're selling them NOW? They must be making them earlier now, because I thought they were only sold the last few weeks leading up Lent?

If all the ingredients are sold in dollars, the weaker dollar means nothing.

Just had a paczki today. REALLY good. I'm Polish so I have to like them.

DONUTS ARE NOT PACZKI.

Paczki are more dense than donuts- they're almost like a coffee cake. Traditional ones were filled with prunes, raisins, dried cherries, or even raspberries. They're supposed to be rolled in sugar, but powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar is acceptable.

By busia would roll in her grave if she saw these jelly donuts being passed for paczki these days :|

As long as it's hole wheat I'm good with that.
