Maybe I'm just lazy but I loathe this more than almost anything.

May: moved back home for the summer from the dorms
June: moved to a new house
August: moved back to school for the year
April (this year): moving away from school into a house with a few friends
September: move out of said house since we are only subleasing it for the summer
September: me and friends moving into a more permanent place for at least 1 year

ARGH! Yesterday I spent a good 4 hours packing up and cleaning but I'm still not done.

My little rant for the day (i never rant)

In other news, I am going out to buy my widescreen HDTV that I've been saving up for for a long time today! :D

Yeah moving sucks and I guess we have another coming up. Wait until you have a 24" uhaul packed full of crap and it's end of july in alabama and you have to carry all the gear up stairs - two flights outside to get to your door. Now that is suckage.

A 24" uhaul wouldn't be too bad, a 24' one might be a little cumbersome though. Last time I had to move was when I moved to my current house 7 years ago. The benefit of going to a local college... you can mooch off your parents.

Atlantean,

I am getting the 42" Toshiba. I wanted the 50" but it won't fit where I am taking it....I might be able to squeeze it by out of the box but it's too risky. I'm getting it for $2200 Canadian. The 50" would run me aroudn $2600-$2700. Also got some free delivery thrown in, as well as a good deal on the extended warranty. Oh and I don't have to start paying it off for 12 months (0% interest til then) but I could buy it in cash right now. I would rather pay it off within the next 3 months though so I'm not totally broke. ;)

Skoorb,

Yeah at least I'm not movnig much big furniture. Just a futon, desk & chair, and A/V rack really.

Good ole Future Shop....I actually found a non-BSing salesman who knows what he talking about. I'd know cause I've been researching these TVs for months! Was a pleasant surprise...

Some of those people at futureshop deserve a good punch in the face, they have no idea what they are talking about 95% of the time. Oh and I see it on the site for $2500, you getting a discount? One nice thing about futureshop is their warranty, I have gotten 2 free cd burners from them because my other two died after excessive use.

Yeah if you go in store, they give you an automatic 7% off on Toshiba's then he took off another $150 or so from mine since I was also buying a progressive scan DVD player.

Yeah their warranties sound good. I'm just gettin the 3 year cause I doubt I'll have this TV longer than that. But if there's a problem and it's not fixed in 30 days, automatic new TV regardless of what is going on. If your TV is repaired 3 times, the 4th problem is an automatic new TV. It's all in-home service too. Don't have to wait for your TV to come back and forth.
edit: also protection against power surges and lightning strikes

Yes, yes it does. I just moved a bunch of crap from my parent's house to my house. Add in the fact that I moved to my house here from atlanta only a few months ago. I absolutely detest and abhor moving. The worst is crap that refuses to fit in the door. ARGH!

Nooooooo...I can't. I need a dedicated theater room for that where I can totally control light. Also the only projector in my price range really was the Infocus X1...I did a demo fo it and I am susceptible to DLP rainbows :( Any LCD I could get my hands on would end up costing more than the TV too.

Oh and my receiver won't do component switching, I need two component inputs...

I will probably get a FP system in 3 years when I get rid of the TV.
