tonight i was packeted for ~30 mins. it didn't really do much damage though considering i wasn't even dropped at my isp. but my question is this. what is the best way to deal with dos/packet flood attacks that are in progress?

Wont really help. Packeteers basically want to fill the pipe, so unless your firewall is before your connection at the isp's end it wont matter much.

My answer: Read a book.

Disconnect, get yourself a new ip, and stop pissing off the 13yo pimple faced script kiddiots.

well, i pretty much asumed that's what you should do but i was wondering if there was any other way. as for the script kiddies there's really nothing i can do when i'm on irc and a 50 bot botnet joins my channel and one of the other op's decides to take the channel and packet me. not much i did there to warrant getting packeted.
