This is another voice over ip service similar to Vonage but with more options. The service includes your local dial tone so for those that don't do much calling, you can get a local phone number in over 100 area codes for only $5.95 mo with free voice mail and free calling to other Packet8 members, then pay a la carte for minutes used.
