Packet Writing built into Windows Vista

Does anyone else use this ? I didn't realize Windows Vista had it built in and the default format seems to at least let support for older windows xp machines and even windows 2003 servers access the content. You can go back to a even older format and even windows 2000 machines will be able to read the content. The only disadvantage I see is you lose well over 100 MB of space but if you are only backing up data that shouldn't be a problem at all. So even a cd-rw would be fine. Though dvd-rw you would get a lot more than most flash drives. I really like the drag and drop feature because you can automatically have a program backup your data a dvd-rw or cd-rw without you having to burn the cd or dvd each time you want a updated back of your data. I will agree though that flash drives are a lot more portable, break resistant, and a lot easier if you have a front usb port. Though for all the pcs that have no front usb port that could be quite a chore. I am glad packet writing is at least built into Windows because I thought I was going to have to install those horrible directcd or incd programs. I never really did like this. Always seem to mess up pcs and not even sure if they work with Vista 64 bit. There is a free packet writing software out there by IBM but I don't think it supports Vista either.

Not sure but it works great though! Now I have a backup of my data that is in use on another hard drive entirely so if the main hard drive with my OS crashes or needs to be reformat I don't lose any of the data at all even if I don't back it up. Though I have it backing up right now to a cd-rw cd directly every minute but only because these files can change by the minute even by the second. It only transfers new files or deletes files if I add anything or delete anything. Like for example if I get a new email it will add just that one new email to the cd-rw cd if I delete one email it will delete that one email from the cd-rw cd. Pretty cool because I hated having to install the UDF reader or whatever it was. Slowed down windows so much. Hated directcd and incd as well.
