Packard Bell Media Remote + PCTV + win2k + irassistant?

does anyone have this combo working well? It seems PCTV is not allowing the signal to go thru. Using WinLIRC w/ irassistant.. seems to be the best combo... works for everything else nicely... i wanted my tv to have a remote

Does the PB receiver work with universal remotes? I assume it does since IRAssistant recognized it. I am thinking about getting this from Overstock but don't really want to use the included remote. Do you use it for Winamp and DVD?

Hmm, I thought $15 shipped with some other stuff (after coupons) was not a bad deal but they can be picked up for the price of dirt on e-Bay. Anyhoo, would you recommend it?

yeah, works fine w/ winamp and dvd. yes, i've heard it will work w/ other remotes (using the sharp code), but i have yet to verify this myself.

I'm just fustrated it don't work with my tv card software running, and i can't figure out why.

I thought that in Win2k the remote only worked with winamp and dvd.
Under WindowsME it'd work with other programs though

depends on what software you're using. I'm using irassistant. free, works with everything else The WinLIRC driver seems to be the problem.. w/ that specific software open (studio PCTV), it can't seem to accept the data sent from the receiver. I will probably install win98 just to see if its a win2k thing or not. just hopin someone else may have encountered this and found a workaround possibly.
