Yes, I know it's a Saturday. But it still irritates me anyway:

Code:
Sep 29, 2012 8:13 AM - At local FedEx facility - MADISON, AL - Package not due for delivery
Sep 29, 2012 3:44 AM - Departed FedEx location - MEMPHIS, TN
Sep 28, 2012 11:21 PM - Arrived at FedEx location - MEMPHIS, TN
Sep 28, 2012 9:27 PM - Left FedEx origin facility - HARLINGEN, TX
Sep 28, 2012 7:30 PM - Picked up - HARLINGEN, TX
Sep 28, 2012 1:08 PM - At local FedEx facility - REYNOSA MX
It can make it from Mexico to Alabama in less than 24 hours, but it's going to sit for about 72 hours before being delivered.

Thankfully I'm not in a hurry. Estimated delivery date is the 2nd. Odds are it'll be delivered on Monday. Logistics are a confusing thing, but wouldn't you think it would behoove them to get it on a truck and off their roll as soon as possible?

Anything ahead of time or exactly on time is de-prioritized (or at least not priority) if anything else is running late - or at least that's my guess. I would assume they strive to have things show up as close to the expected delivery date as possible.

That annoys me, too, but I don't see it as often as I do things like "train derailment" for UPS. 😀
