Pack Date? What's this nonsense.

Sup forum browsers. I've got numerous questions and I keep posting, thanks for your patience and help.
I recieved a P4 1.6a Retail and tried to locate this "pack date." Well first of all, it isn't at all from Malaysia, its from Costa Rica. And second of all, there's no date on my CPU. Just really small letters that say the processor, FSB, voltage, Costa Rica and Intel Inc or something like that. No date. I've heard about half a million reports on a May issue of the Malaysian processor that seems to do so well. But never, ever, Costa Rica. Espeically with no date, I feel kind of baffled. Btw, I bought this processor from googlegear.com.

So where is this pack date? And I know Costa Rica is good for other imports, but is there a difference when they make processors for Intel?

Don't know about Costa Rica vs Malaysia, but the pack date should be on a sticker on the retail box.

Haha thanks, I hit the refresh button and then went to look at my box and found it. 3/27/02... I'm guessing that's a shitty processor.

Not necessarily. Have you tried it out yet? There are goods chips coming from all pack dates.

You might have a look at overclocking database in Overclockers.com, there are both Malaysia and Costa Rica mixed there with different pack dates. So there shouldn't be a difference.
