PacificDigital 8x DVD+-RW problem

I installed this last evening. It will read and burn CD-Rs, it will read DVDs, but it will not write DVDs. I've tried burning with Nero 6 and it gives me a sequence error and aborts (at least it didn't ruin a DVD). I also tried burning with Roxio and it gives me a communications error. I even tried downloading and flashing a new bios. What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried using different DVD media? What brand are you having problems with?

I've tried TDK. Oh, and it even fails when I check the simulation button in Nero.

Try to exchange the drive.
