if they equip every Jaegers (robots) with a sword then they can easily kill every kaju and ended the war already.

The problem was they adapt as we saw and they said in the movies.

Plus it seemed to be a new type of weapon they had thus not many had it at the time.

if logic were a concern i think there are a lot more effective ways to kill 20 story tall monster than punching them to death with diesel powered giant robots

When the first attacked didn't it take days to kill it?

I would assume using nukes while it's in cities would be a no-no so they used normal weapons.

yeah i suppose that would be a problem. though I believe anything that can be punched to death with slow moving diesel powered robots can be killed with specially suited munitions. i have complete faith in our ability to kill shit til they are dead. /armchair general

It's the same with Transformers, they fight, throw, punch etc, then at the end of the movie they take out a sword and end it quickly.

Much like..why didn't they fly the damn birds to Mordor?

because it makes for a short story

They didn't fly the birds to mordor because sauron was the king of the skies with his evil dragon flyer dudes.

They were forced to sneak all the way there.

Duh.

Pacific Rim delivered exactly what I wanted in a movie about giant robots punching giant monsters. I regret not seeing it on the big screen, but will definitely be seeing the sequel opening weekend.

They couldn't use swords or any piercing or cutting weapon because the kaijus blood is acidic and ruins the environment. Also why no large scale guns were used, extra holes were bad. The plasma guns were ment to cauterize the wound at the same time as taking out chunks.

The only reason the sword was used was because of a do or die scenario.

Why did it require two people to control it with only half their body, wouldn't one person be more coordinated and the Jaegers wouldn't be so stupid and falling all over the place?

But yea... giant robots... woooo

I don't care what the reasons, I think the movie kicked ass.

Because there totally weren't multiple jagers that employed non-cauterizing weaponry and bladed spinny weapons

Yes, I was not able to suspend belief. If a giant sword could puncture the monsters, could we not send a HUGE ballistic steel projectile at the guy and use gravity to our advantage in destroying the sucker?
