Yes it is overpriced.

Yes I will own one on launch day.

Am I being ripped off? Well.. even though I state it's overpriced (relative worth of technology) it's still obviously worth it to me , simply because I do not own a PSP and am in the market. Why wouldn't I wait for the newest refresh when it is right around the corner?

looks like they are really trying to compete with Apple as the battery is imbedded. Good luck getting it replaced when it stops recharging. As an aside, the original from my launch day psp is still going strong.

I hate to admit this, but I'll be buying one. I always hated the way the original PSP designs were. I just hope they can crack the firmware on it -- it would make the price easier to swallow. (I play a few SNES and PS1 games on my PSP.)

I don't think anyone is bothered by the fact that the PSP Go costs more than the PSP-3000. That makes perfect sense. What doesn't is pricing it at $250 which is well beyond the cost of a base Xbox 360 and right next to the Wii. I don't really care if it costs Sony $230 to make one, that's too expensive for a handheld system running a 4-5 year-old platform.

I know it was a joke. But, you know, some people might actually be thinking that without joking.

Overpriced, sure, but unreasonable? I don't think so. Like I said, it'll cost extra to keep two PSP models going at the same time, especially with a such a different design. And, to the average consumer, 16gb + bluetooth PLUS a sleeker design will be worth the extra cash. A 16gb memory stick pro duo alone bumps up the PSPs cost like crazy. Tack on a cooler design with bluetooth...yeah, most people will see this as a deal. Only the tech-savvy people will see the truth.

And so what if it's a 4-5 year old platform? That doesn't mean it's outdated or bad. Sony's done a pretty good job expanding the features of the PSP over the years...doesn't look like handhelds will be advancing anytime soon (what with the DSi and new PSP Go).

Of course, the price will become unreasonable for sure if Sony doesn't let people download their UMD games for free.

Did Kaz Hirai introduce the PSPGo? Is a copy of RIIIIIIDGE RACER included at the very least?!

PSP Go ships with media management software. Sony is clearly not going after Nintendo with this product, they are gunning for Apple. By that standard, they move from overpriced to bargain- although Apple does have that effect on most companies it competes with ;)
