For the people here who have one or have a friend or family member that has one are the new ones effected by microwaves (the ovens) like they used to be?

From what I have been finding on the web, the answer is no, but im just asking around to get it straight from the horses mouth.
 
No, no longer affected by pretty much any normal outside interference. Main point to look out for now is getting a used pace maker. Not too common, but one thing to make sure of. Not illegal to use them in my understanding, but VERY illegal without patient consent. Reason is because they are cheaper, some people without insurance might make use of them. But that is all I know...g'luck.
