PacBell USB DSL modem and router for adding a laptop

OK everyone,

I searched for some simple advice on this issue and didn't see any, so here goes:

I have a USB modem, SpeedStream 4060, from Efficient Networks, using PPPoA, for my DSL connection to Pacific Bell, with one dynamic IP address.

My new roommate wants to set up a router so he can use the DSL connection from his room.

From what I can tell, this is possible for ethernet modems but USB I don't know much about. So someone help me out on how to do it, or tell me where I can go to find out. Recommendations on hardware especially true!

Thanks,

Robert
