PacBell DSL sucks

I'm in Davis, looks like PacBell DNS server is not working right. Can connect to certain sites, can't do an nslookup on others so I'm led to believe their forward lookup is screwy. This is fuglin retarded, I'm logged onto UCD so I can nslookup and get to webpages by typing in IPs. At least I'm able to get to ATOT, would be seriously pissed if I was denied my daily fix of anand.

yea i use it now at home in the bay area. i'm signing up for it for next semester at chico an hour north of ya as well, not lookin' forward to that. especially the splitting it 4 ways part, bah

just use a free DNS server, search for DNS in off topic. @home's DNS sucks too and somebody pointed me to a good free and pretty fast DNS server

Well apprenty is over 45 days old so I looked it up for u.
From the good guy:
"i had the problem last night with earthlink dns.. last I checked it was down. I just rerouted my dns to my witchita state univ dns @ 156.26.1.1

but now I am using my brothers company DNS with about 11ms response times.. not bad for being on the other side of LA.

Its says DNS1.softaware.net but my brother controls it partly. They host bulkregister's DNS on one of those servers.. and are made to be extrememly fast. "
