Just as folks were discussing the illogicality of using 4K displays for mobile phones, Samsung's out and going after 11K!
I put this in displays because the tech is likely going to be used in VR down the line. Remember, Oculus calculates that the ideal VR resolution is 16K by 16K per eye.
Samsung's OLED lead in small form factors is already a given, and OLED is what you want/need in VR. Also, as the report states, you may create 3D-like effects with such a high density and optical illusions.
Nevertheless, interesting leap I think. I'd probably never get an 11K smartphone but I do welcome the high fidelity for VR.
