There are a ton of businesses taking advantage of the low minimum wage and getting away with it for Industries that used to be considered well paid including the IT Industry.

Many State and Federal Govt positions included also taking advantage of the low wage.

There are Help Desk positions for minumum wage. I was simply showing how far DOWN the IT Industry has dropped with the first item that came up with search. There are plenty more where that came from.

You guys will be complaining when all you can afford is MickeyD's.

I worked help desk on a fortune 250 company once and made nearly 5 times that per hour. So I am curious where you are finding all these 5.15 an hour helpdesk jobs.

I know some helpdesks are good, but I dont know anybody who can physically get on a machine from 12,000 miles away in under 24 hours.

That said, India will get you call center help that is what you pay for, you can ask dell how that is working out.

Because just about anywhere around here hiring for a tech position requires experience, I had to join a company that requires a month long training program before they hire you. And during that program they pay .... you guessed it, minimum wage. And since in Ga minimum wage is the federal rate, for that month I was falling behind even with keeping a weekend job.
