So very well stated. I remember when all the fanboys were toting around those Madden '06 mockups and delcaring the death of the PC. It was cute.

I'm sure nextgen consoles will bring a lot of gaming goodness to the table. I plan to buy all 3. But let's be honest here....at best, they'll have a slight edge on the PC for 6 months or so, at which point any advantage will disappear. Most of 360s launch titles are co-launching on the PC as well.

I'm content with having my preferred platform recognized as a marginal player in the games arena. That's absolutely fact. PC Gaming is not nearly as large a market as console gaming. But please, especially if you've been gaming for more than 5 years, don't wander in here with propaganda art and proclaim that the bar-none most powerful platform out there is going to cease to exist in the fall. You're only making yourself look silly.

::blah state of mind::

hey isn't that how it's been for a while? everytime i think of pc gaming (I've been a gamer for over 10 years; not a heavy addict thought, the last time i sat down and tried was a week ago...) hasn't a console always came out with slightly better visuals; only to have pc's kick their arsess a few months down the road? I'm a fan of consoles, but I only waste my cash (when i do) on pc gaming.....

Well, HW and SW developers make more $$$ on consoles first, then we PC enthusists get the full-fledged HW and tweaked SW a coupla months later. Its just good business pratice on everyones part. Consumers purchase of a game console outweighs pc HW and SW purchases by a large margin. They make the money on consoles then cater to the PC people. It used to be the other way around, when consoles had to wait for PC games to be ported over, now we do.
