P965 board with ATI video card?

Maybe a dumb question, but now that AMD owns ATI, are there any technical reasons that I ought to use an nVidia board in an Intel P965-based Core 2 Duo system instead of an ATI video card?

Looking at performance / price right now, the X1900XT is pretty attractive, moreso than the 7900GT, for example.

Ah crap. I was looking at the price of the X1900GT thinking it was an X1900XT. *Sigh*. Back to the drawing board.
