This is my first build in a decade and have hit a couple of bumps.
build
v-pro
3770k
2 Corsair Dominator Ram sticks 32
intel 520 240g ssd c drive
cooler master 212 evo with 2 Logisys fans running push/pull
Fractal Design case
bios 1708
fired it up at this point and hit the seemingly common fan speed wall. I discovered that the only fan that would get me past this stop was the factory intel fan for the 3770k. Once past I swapped wires around and shut down the cpu fan monitoring.
I see in some of the forum posts that I should be able to adjust the low speed rpm limit. I have not been able to find this setting, just off or on.
Where is it? Do I need a bios update?
Should I be updating the bios anyway. From what I have read there are some problems with some of these also.
I added a 1TB WD Caviar Black drive. The system does not find this drive. I figure I am overlooking a jumper or perhaps I am plugged in to the wrong port on the board. I have it set on SATA 6
I have other hardware to plug in to this but need to get past this hard drive install first.
thanks for the help
Steve
