Yes, 8.1.0.XXXX is fine.
I hope you didnt do any flash with a bad RAM stick. And fwiw there is no 3 stick 24GB RAM profile for these mobo -

I might note, as you said, that the bios 1908 should have updated ME to 8.1.2.1318 (V-Pro). This bios is a real fakeout - its a two step flash, first the bios ("successful") then the ME with absolutely no notice or warning. After the initial flash and "successfull" message you have to STOP and wait like 30 seconds (to be safe) for the rapid instant reboot. Its kind of a silent quickie minor ME upgrade.

I absolutely HATE the fact ASUS never warns about this stuff on bios download page. But if your system is working fine, i wouldnt even worry about it, unless you are running Win 8

Intel is always adding newer IMEI DRIVERS to the IMEI driver pak (and similarly does same with RST- like now Haswell stuff coming)
The ME OPROM that loads during a bios flash update for your particular mobo is the correct one: IF IT COMPLETES and doesnt corrupt the ME partition. (Will show on bios MAIN page) Looks like yours did not complete but did not corrupt.
Fwiw all bios updates do not update the ME OPROM, only certain ones (1908 does). I now believe bios 1908 is the last Z77 V Pro bios to be available.

>UPDATE: Nope, they have added 2003 now
Peeps have been having issues with this new offering, prob only for those who have made an incomplete, corrupted, or aborted 1908 ME upgrade while flashing - esp without an unplugged PSU CMOS reset before trying to boot to O/S for first time.

Fwiw the new UEFI 2003 does not have any ME firmware update, its just a bios partition upgrade. I knew my 1908 flash was good, so I just put the cap file on a FAT 32 USB 2.0 stick 8GB or less in an INTEL I/O plate USB 2.0 port with legacy USB 2.0 enabled in bios USB page and went to tools EZ Flash 2 page and browsed to the bios and flashed it. (I dont advise using your case USB 2 ports - the wiring and contacts may not be the best)
It finished with "successfull" and said to press F1 to enter setup, but I waited until it did it by itself. I did no CMOS reset, and just redid my bios settings and everything was fine. A trouble free basic flash the way its supposed to be.
This situation can be extremely problematic GOING FROM LOCKED Bad 1908 to any later bios vers. Even worse, if you have a lower level Z77 mobo that has no flashback module to strip the protections, then you are dead meat - need to buy a new chip. In this situation you will never fix bad 1908 or higher ME - its protected as is, bad or good.

Modding the bios or using the ASUS ME tool to get a later ME achieves no advantage to your system. Some people are fanatic about having all the latest firmware and drivers showing.
Not me.

And current IMEI requires MS .NET 4.5 or later

Dif versions of bios add dif versions of ME firmware
If the ME Oprom showing on bios main page is higher than showing in IMEI drivers in Dev manager, IMEI driver should be updated. The Intel IMEI install routine (once again) will scan your system and install the most appropriate version for your mobo/bios. It also may allow higher version of driver to be installed, but only up to a point. If you try to install the absolute latest driver it may not install at all - just leaves everything as is.

Latest on ASUS site is 8.1.0.1263 Sep 9 2012. So, I tried 9.0.2.1345 from OC.net - which then got me up to the 9.0.0.1287 DRIVER!!

In other words, the Intel MEI current install software is a series of included drivers UP TO 9.0.2 - its just not one driver.

Just noticed theres a new bios flashing booby trap on 2003 boot page: "USB Support". It remains to be seen if bios tool will flash a Z77 in Legacy USB 2.0 mode with USB Support in default "disabled". It seems Z87 will flash but I believe bios default there is "partial" support - not sure. The real test for this option will be if a Win 7/8 USB install stick will work in either disabled or partial!

Hi. I think I am having trouble with my Asus P8Z77-pro MB with latest firmware (2104). I actually have two issues.

1.
I am trying to OC my intel i7 2600K with this board. It seems I can't change the vcore voltage in bios and have it take affect when monitoring it in
windows with cpu-z. By this I mean, I've tried changing the cpu voltage manually in the range of 1.25 - 1.365 in bios. When I check the 'Core Voltage' in cpu-z, it always shows 1.280 under load. When at idle, it is .984. I've also tried the offset mode. No change as well. I suspect either a bad bios flash (I didn't do it, came like this),firmware is bad, or I am doing something wrong.

2. My internal network card would not show whenever I do a cold start of pc. To fix it, i need to go into device manager and disable an re enable the network card. I read that there is a fix by installing a patch from intel or MS. I've done that, but it still don't work. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Ok. I finally figured it out and got it working as it should. I have spend 3 days messing with all kinds of settings in bios to get my OC working.

It was in fact a glitched with the bios I had. I didn't want to reflash with the same firmware so I just reset the cmos. That cleared it. I am able to change the cpu voltages now.

Just to recap. If you are having trouble where bios is not really accepting the cpu voltage, do a reset of cmos or reflash to the same firmware or another one. I would try the first since it is an easier fix.
