Hello all:
I am new here. ;)
Anyway, I am thinking to build a new desktop after Christmas, so I made a list. Can you guys give me any suggestions?

PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX 600
CPU: i5-3570K
MOBO: Asus P8Z77-V LK
GPU: HD 7870 2G. no specific brand yet, will get the best deal at that time.
RAM: 8G. no specific brand yet, will get the best deal at that time.

This desktop is mainly for gaming, and do some work ( MS office & Adobe). I want to build one can last 4, 5 years, my old one is still running fine for more than 4 years (e8500, p5ql pro, 4g ram, HD4850). I am not planning to OC any thing, may be just get the factory OCed 7870, and probably not cross fire. So my question is would this MOBO Asus P8Z77-V LK do fine? Or I need a better one like V or V pro? I noticed not many ppl buy this MOBO, and I can only find few reviews about it, I wonder why. I found it on amazon.co.uk it is about 93£, not sure it worth or not.

And another newbie question. If I plug both 7870 and my old 4850 onto MOBO and connect them with Crossfire cable, I think it is not Crossfire, but what would happen?

And if you think any parts would cause problem or you have better suggestion, please do tell. And BTW, I live in the U.K. and everything here is like 20% more expensive than the U.S., so some parts may not be as worthy as sales on neweggs ( apparently it is quite popular in this community).

Thank you all. :whiste:

Yup, that board should do just fine. A more expensive board just add features, your needs seem pretty basic and a more expensive board would just go to waste. If you will never run a multi GPU setup, a 500W PSU is sufficient. You should get it before Christmas, wrap it up and give it to yourself.

lol, My friend said if I get them after Christmas, there may be some sales, because around that time, ppl spent all their money for Christmas gifts, so many store would have some reduced price products. So, even I am overly exited about the new desktop right now, I am not in hurry, and will wait for the sales. Thank you for your reply!
