P8P67 PRO - USB 3.0 bracket Low 2.0 Speeds

When I plug my USB 3.0 USB Drive into the bracket (USB 3.0) of Asus P8P67 Pro, Windows says "This device can perform faster...."

Indeed, the speeds are only USB 2.0 range with the bracket (it is supposed to be USB 3.0)

When I use same drive in USB 3.0 Mobo ports, all works fine and much faster.

Anyone can offer any advice? Why would this bracket port only work as USB 2.0?

Thanks.

Are you sure you connected the bracket to the right connectors on the motherboard? If you connect the bracket to the USB 2.0 connector it wont work as USB 3.0

Got the 1305 bios with new revision board from ASUS. What is pretty sad is that USB #3,4 (blue port)- which is USB 3.0 for the bracket still works in 2.0 speeds.

I've tried three sets of drivers, but no luck. The USB 3.0 ports on the rear panel work fine.
I have seen this problem reported on three other boards, so I am not alone.

Now, is Asus ever going to fix it in BIOS update??? Please say yes, because having USB 3.0 is important and gets pretty heavily advertised as cool-new feature to have.

Also, how can only 2 of USB 3.0 ports work fine at USB 3.0 speeds (rear) and other 2 work at USB 2.0 speeds ??? Same driver, same controller. Is this the bracket maybe???

I've tested 2 mobos with 2 brackets and both show same behavior - rear USB 3.0 works fine, bracket USB 3.0 works in USB 2.0 speeds and always displays "your device can perform faster..."

Hmm I haven't set up my bracket yet on my P8P67 Pro but the ports on the back of the board work fine as USB 3.0 and my external HDD is blazing fast. I'll test out the bracket when I get the time.

Are you actually running the USB 3 install package or just pointing Windows toward the drivers ?

I'm not having any problems with USB 3 on the front panel ..

Install packages. I've tested it with just one USB 3.0 device.

Rear USB 3.0 ports work fine, while bracket USB 3.0 are slow and display message.

I had this same problem with my P8P67 Pro.

After I installed a ferrite core in the bracket connector the issue stopped. I got this ferrite core blunded with a Laserjet hp printer to use with USB 2.0 cable!!!. So I thought, if a 2.0 cable need it, let´s try with a 3.0.

Tested with a Dane Elec USB 3.0 HD and a USB 3.0 Pretec memory card reader. Both are working at 3.0.

So I believe it is a eletro magnetic/RF interference issue.

My FSB is 103.3 Mhz. Have read some posts that the problem was a FSB issue and have to be set at 100Mhz. Before istalling the ferrite core, I tried 100MHz but the problem persisted. So I do not think that the main cause is FSB related. The problem is RF interference.

I cannot understand why ASUS do not ship the bracket with a ferrite core, as P8P67 are not cost oriented boards.
