P8P67 deluxe intel lan controller issues

Hiya guys, I'm having some pretty servere frustrations with my intel lan controller on my p8p67 deluxe main board. Quite simply put, it's not working, I can move the ethernet cable to the realtek controller and it works fine. So what i'm wondering is there any way at all to troubleshoot or repair a lan port? The device manager says it's working correctly. I just really can't stand when somethings not working on my board. Thank you for any and all help.

Do the amber/green LEDS on the NIC light up at all?

'bout the only SURE way I can think of is to create a LAN boot disk/CD/USBKEY and boot to it. If it connects to the LAN controller, then it's prolly a software issue. If it doesn't, then I would guess HW

Yeah, a PITA I know, and hopefully someone else out there has an easier way to check.

Check in the BIOS to see if the NIC is disabled in there?

Although it shouldn't be showing up in the device mangler if it was lol.

Only other thing I can think of off the top of my noggin is unplug your HD, toss in a spare one, and toss on the OS to see if the NICs work

Good luck
