P8P67/CM 212+ / first DIMM slot too tight?

Hi,

I'm looking to get another pair of Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9, I have a P8P67 Deluxe with a Cooler Master 212+, and it looks like the fan is a mere one or two millimetres away from the first slot. Do any of you have a similar setup with the first slot in use similar RAM with heatsinks? Is there just about enough clearance? It looks like it *might* but the modules heatsink would rest basically on the CPU fan.

Here's a picture I took of inside: http://twitpic.com/53p8gt/full

I think these taller heat spreaders sometimes give trouble if you got a large cpu HSF.

I have the exact same setup in my system. Using an X48 with all four DIMMs populated the 25mm fan on my TRU120E is about 1mm from the first dimm. Has been running that way for about three years. The airflow is probably not what it could be around the CPU, but as a trade off it helps keep my RAM cool!

With the 212+ you can move the fan higher to help clear the RAM slots...
Absolutely agree.

I've done it on my P55 Gigabyte board: I slid the CM212+ fan up about 1/2" or 3/4" to clear the first RAM slot. No problems, nor noticeable change in cooling temps.
