P8H67-M EVO Video Issues

Hi - I just purchased an ASUS P8H67-M EVO motherboard with an I7-2600K processor and 2x4gb Patriot DDR3-1600 memory. I have a HP w2408h monitor connected to the HDMI port. Lots of times when I boot the PC or it comes out of sleep mode the monitor flashes on and off almost like the backlight is cutting on and off. If I turn the monitor off and then back on it's fine. It only happens with the HDMI out and not with the VGA port. For kicks I decided to connect the PC to my Samsung UN55C7000 television. It works fine with the VGA port but not the HDMI. With the HDMI cable connected I get a BSOD telling me that there is a problem with the display driver. I don't know if it's a driver issue (latest driver from intel installed) or a motherboard issue. The HP monitor has worked fine with HDMI for years so I'm sure theres nothing wrong there.

Thanks
