From the reviews, the Marvell chip does seem to have trouble catching up with intel's SATA 6Gbps controller.
Now, a few questions;
Is the performance issue a matter of a performance cap, i.e. that's the max throughput it can reach... OR... is it more akin to poorer efficiency?
Would it affect the performance of a fast HDD as it cannot reach the max bandwidth of a SSD, or will it show poorer performance no matter how much slower than an SSD.
And, can the Marvell controller be flashed to remedy the situation?
