I have a P5B dlx Wifi edition. Its unused as of now. I actually wanted P5W DH but due to some mistake on my end i got P5B. The board is decent and most of my friends say that it can overclock better than P5W DH and is much stable board.

I'm not much of a overclocker, and dont wish to overclock my processor (E6600) anytime soon.

I wanted P5W DH coz it has almost all the features of P5B and a remote which i would love to have.

My questions:

1. My friend told that setting up the remote is a pain. Is it really that biggie?

2. Many people complained about motherboard heating problem. I would rather settle for simpler thing than plaing with heatsinks to get over this issue. So again, is the heating problem real big?

3. I read at some places that SLI can be done on P5W DH. Is it possible on P5B if i intend to keep it.

More to follow

p.s. - the price difference will be around 10-15$ for me. So i dont think it matters much.

1)From what I have read most find the remote mediocre at best. I personally dont use it so couldnt say for sure.

2)Yes, there are heat issues but its only a problem if you overclock. There is a fix though if you want to overclock. Pulling the caps off the chipset thingies makes a big difference. Also pulling the heatsinks off and replacing the ASUS thermal compound makes a diiference according to those that have done it. The XS site has a thread with pics and instruction on how to do it.

3)Yes, from what i heard there are some unsupported drivers that allow it. I think you also need to buy a dongle for it as well. I heard it can be found on ebay for a few bucks.

Not sure which of the two mobos is more stable now since both have gotten better bios updates but I do know that people have gotten higher fsb settings on the P5B than the P5W DH. New bios updates could change this though. The general feeling among the overclocking community seems to feel that the P5B is a better match up for the E6300 & 6400 chips and the P5W DH is a better match up with the E6600 and higher chips at this time.
