P5W DH WTF???

ok, 1st post so bare with me...

i just picked up an ASUS P5W DH mainboard.

i'm running an E6600 - 2GB of OCZ PC6400 @ 800MHz and 3 SATA drives (non-raid) and an IDE optical drive.

ok, the beef is that upon bootup, it takes like almost 1 1/2 mins to get past post and start loading windows. no hard lock, cause i hit TAB to see post and it's still doing it's thing.

i'm not OC'in one bit, not running raid, and an IDE optical drive.

is anyone aware of a workaround...?

i saw the "fix" about the setting the optical drive to "none" or something to that effect, but that only applied if you had a SATA optical drive.

is this just common nature of this board? i was going to try a MSI 975X Platinum and see what's up.

i'm not too hot about the 680i cause i'm not going to run SLI nor OC, so any help would be appreciated.

**also in windows, everything is as snappy as can be. gaming FPS is accurate, installs are fast, and all that good stuff----indicating that there are no hardware issues. and i went from a P5B to this board and the problem didn't exist.
