Hello, this is my first post on any technical forum. I've read lots of great advice on these forums, but i'm still stuck. I just bought a new Asus P5W DH for the Conroe e6600 which i intend to buy in the next week or so. I know this is a great overclocking motherboard and i would like to overclock in the future but not at this time. Also, i will only be using a single Geforce 7900gt and when i upgrade it will be in exchange for another single dx 10 geforce card.

My question is should i stick with my P5W DH, considering i will need to overclock in the future and won't be needing a duel GPU board? Or should i return it and wait for the nVidia 590 boards to come out? I will be using this new rig mostly for gaming. Thanks for your help!

Oh, and any ram/case/hd/psu recommendations would also be greatly appreciated!

It's a great board, among the best for overclocking out there, and it does have 2 pci-e x16 slots, so maybe there will be a revision that will allow sli... hopefully. If you've bought it then you have $$$ to drop, and you probably would be hard pressed to find a better MoBo to put that towards. Keep it. For RAM, gskill ddr2-800 is probably the best ocing RAM, a great case is the lian li pc7b+2 or the v1000b +2 if you can afford it. Seagate 7200.10 hdd's perform great, the 320gb OEM is $90. For a psu, a single card solution would merit an enhance 5150gh. $80 shipped from ewiz. An sli rig will want ~600w but you could go with the 700w version... a fortron epsilon or the lower priced ocz gamexstream in either of these power outputs, will be an excellent choice. Also check out the seasonic s12 series 500w or 600w, if quiet is your thing. Make sure you get a good cpu cooler and gpu cooler too if you're going to oc that, the ac freezer 7 pro is awesome on a budget, the tuniq tower is the best air cooling you can buy, and the scythe ninja performs right up there within a few degrees c tuniq for 1/2 the cost. The zalman vf900 and ac nv5 silencer are the only ones that should be considered, the vf900 being the smarter choice IMO, for the gpu. Happy building and welcome to the forums! :D
