Very frustrated, just got my new Asus p5q in the mail today. Wont post, it just powers up then down and repeats that to infinity. Using the same parts I have in my old build (see sig) except for some new ram so I know that all works. Tried clearing the cmos, and using every ram slot combination I could imagine. I'm back on my DS3 board now using the new ram so that is working as well. Is this thing DOA?
 
DOA boards happen all the time. Not enough quality control checks in place. Send it back.
But first I would double check to make sure that the memory although is good in the DS3 system, is compatible in the new Asus p5q system.

Nah, started it up on cardboard. Would have made that clear earlier but I was too annoyed at the time to properly report.
