P5PE-VM or ASRock 775Dual-VSTA with E6600?

I am going to upgrade to a new motherboard and a C2D E6600. I want to keep some of my legacy hardware for now.

I originally was going to go with the ASUS P5PE-VM, but it seems some people have had some problems with the E6600 and it running at underclocked speeds. Others seem to have it running at full speed, but then the memory runs underclocked.

It seems the ASRock 775Dual-VSTA has more options in terms of overclocking but I'm concerned about the quality of the ASRock board.

Anyone have any experience with these boards?

Also - has anyone used MCE2005 with them? One google search seemed to suggest MCE2005 didn't install properly with the ASUS board.

The ASRock board is a really nice board if you want to use your old parts. I used one to transition to a more modern P965-based board that supported newer stuff like pci-e and ddr2. It has some limitations(pci-e only runs at 4x speed not 16x, it overclocks very poorly) but is remarkably stable and forgiving with a variety of components. It's very good at what it does for it's pricepoint(under $60).

I went from a Northwood P4 with HT @ 3.45Ghz to a C2D E6400 on the ASRock 775Dual-VSTA and it was a HUGE upgrade. Best upgrade I can remember as a matter of fact.
