P5N32_E SLI Plus FSB question

Hi,

I am new to overclocking but managed to easily OC my E6600 to a stable 3.0GHz by just raising the FSB setting to 1333 in Bios v0602. My CPU is cooled with a Zalman 9500 and I'm getting an average core temp. of 34C.

The specs for this MB state that it supports a FSB of up to 1333Mhz but I noticed in the BIOS the option to raise the setting to 3000Mhz. I tried setting it at 1400 and my CPU clock rate rose to 3.15Ghz but I did not leave it there in case I was overdoing it.

If the MB is rated at 1333MHz why does it allow you to go higher? What is the safe upper limits for the MB?

Any other tips for getting more out of this system?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Gregg
