I built a new machine back in September of 2006 and it ran flawlessly (including benchmarks) until September of 2007 (go figure). The system showed no signs of failure (my last machine fried & failed in enough ways I know the symptoms) but when I was playing the Team Fortress 2 beta I had a sudden system crash after which I could no longer POST. Fans and lights come on but no go.

I took the basic masures of reset the CSMOS and reseating every thing but also had a friend take a couple weeks to thoroughly test it which he eliminated everything except the main board and the processor - due in part that we didn't have any spare socket 775 mobos or Core 2's. RAM, PSU, and GPU all check out fine.
Ok, I admit that this board is not worth saving and I had the intention of replacing it but I don't have the option of replacing it at the moment. After doing some searching I'm getting quite a few results where people have dead boards but the problem was wrong ram voltages, out of date bios, and power consumption. Maybe a few others in there but none of which really help me because either A) I cannot POST to begin with. B) Most answers were for new/burn in builds that never POSTed and mine worked for a happy 12 months with this configuration.
I'm pretty sure its dead, but I'm exploring my last few options as I have abouth a month before I can even order a replacement.
