Just helped my friend put together his "new" system. Got the parts from another friend and they were in prefect working condition before the case transfer. Now that the system is up and running we are having issues with both onboard NICs.

The top NIC has limited to no connectivity while the bottom NIC works but has extremely slow(.25-1.25 mbs) download and below average(.65-1.0 mbs) upload rates. Ping is rock solid around 11ms. On the same cable I get 11 down and 2 up on my personal machine to the same test site. Also when taking the router out of the loop the speeds drop. This is on a fresh XP install w/ SP3. We've tried 3 sets of drivers all with the same affect(Original CD, ones from asus, and the newest from Nvidia's site.) I also tried disabling each NIC in the bios in case of a conflict but came to the same results.

I'm completely open to all suggestions at this point.

**Edit**

Good news is the bottom NIC is working fine, bad news is I have to spend an hour on the phone with my cable company. Some where between the time we unhooked my computer and finished installing the drivers on his the internet decided to start dropping packets left and right.
