I'm on my THIRD P5N32 board - all have had hardware problems and needed to be RMA'd.
Here's what's happening:
Today - like TWO TIMES before, I turn it on and nothing... I yank the power supply cord, plug it back in, and before I can press PWR-ON the system attempts to boot. The fans spin up and all looks like it's trying to POST. Then, it turns off (3 seconds later). So, I try pressing the PWR-ON button - nothing.
I've yanked it out of my case, tried three different power supplies - everything I can think of. The other times this has happened a new MOBO has fixed it. What is breaking this board? Nothing comes along with its death - it was running like a top, not a single crash or overheating (ORTHOS @ 56 cel with Tuniq 120).
My power is run through a surge protector and this development has had very consistent power. I also have another computer (my server) on the same surge protector so I don't think this has anything to do with the power in my house. I've also had this power supply for a while - it's run (and still can run) other systems just fine.
Any ideas? Is this board just a POS?
Specs:
E6600 stock voltage OC @ 3.37
8800GTS 640
2 GB Ballistix DDR2-1000
Enermax Liberty 500W
Tuniq 120
