I'm having big problems with my PC. It's been running fine with no problems for months now.

Asus P5N-E SLI
C2D E6600
BFG 7600 GT OC
CRUCIAL BULISTIX 2 X 512 DDR2 800

I bought 2 new sticks of the same Crucial memory, only 1gig each. I had the 2 x512 sticks in the black slots, so I just put the new mem in the yellow slots.

The first time I tried to boot it locked up on a black screen with a white cursor in the upper left hand corner of the screen. It never got to the welcome screen.

I re-booted and went into the Bios and set all the memory timings to auto. When I tried to exit and save the Bios, it locked up again and would not let me save.

So, I removed the two new sticks of memory and tried to re-boot and now my monitor never turns on. If I unplug the video cable then the monitor turns on and says 'no signal' but it never seems to receive a signal from the pc to turn on.

I'm thinking that maybe something happened to the bios and so the pc is never posting or doing anything. So I Cleared the CMOS and that didn't help at all.

If I take all the memory out and start I get the warning beeps saying the memory is not installed correctly.

I tried to boot from the XP installation CD but that didn't work either.

I know the monitor works because I hooked my old pc up and am using it now.

Any ideas on what I should try?

Thanks.

One other point, the keyboard is not functional when I turn the pc on either. The lights for the cap lock/num lock never come on.

Actually I noticed that the keyboard lights do all come on right when you power on, but after that the keyboard is dead.

Anybody know of any way to get back to the original bios when I have no way to update them?
