P5KC MB with RAM pairs of different specs

hi Guys,

I have a Asus P5KC MB with 2GB DDR2 Crosair PC6400 C4 DHX memory. With the post XMass sale I am planning to buy an additional 2 GB RAM.

My question is should this 2 GB RAM be of the same spec as the existing ones?

Can I buy 2 x 1 GB DDR3 1333 RAM and use it along with the existing ones?

Can I buy 2 x 1 GB DDR2 1066 RAM and use it along with the existing ones?

Any advice will be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Deepak

You cannot mix DDR2 and DDR3 on the same board.

If you get the 2GB of DDR2-1066, then you will have to make sure that all of them are clocked at DDR2-800 with your slower pair, with the timings of the slower pair.
