Hi,
I am new to this forum and haev ne er OC b4. I am looking for some help OC'ing this system. I wouild like to get it to 3.6Ghz and have the RAM at 1333. please help. I also have a thermaltake Kandalf LCS case with built in liquid cooling. The only part I have liquid cooled atm is the processor. I do intend to get a waterblock for the GPU and for the RAM but not for a couple weeks. I also haev 2 extra fans installed.

That one is installed on the lowest pci slot.

That one is in the highest PCI E x1 slot (unusable since I am running my PCI E x4 slot at max sped with an 8 port RAID card.
Right now I have the system running at 3.33Ghz with a 10x multiplier. I cannot seem to figure out the numbers for 3.6Ghz and have a successful OC.

Plz help. TIA

Thanx. That was the first guide I read and was how I achieved the 3.33Ghz and all other settings. I am still confused when it comes to the multiplier and keeping at 1333 RAM. I hope someone has settings for 2.6Ghz that I could copy and do like they did. Call me lazy.

Set your FSB @ 328MHz, select the DDR3-1333MHz from the DRAM Frequency option, and select the 11x multiplier for your CPU.
You have to find the voltage required for your CPU to be stable at 3.6GHz though.

Laziness and overclocking = no go, so start working things out.
You can't be a copy-cat, you need to read at least the basics of CPU + RAM overclocking.

OK. I did that. But, the Ram option for 1333 was gone and was left with 1312. Is this going to affect anything?I found that I had to raise the covre voltage to 1.45 to boot up properly at this config.

I found that with FSB at 333 and 11x multiplier it kept the RAM option of 1333 and end up with 3.67 Ghz. But, i raised the VCore up to 1.525 gradually and still was not stable at this clock speed. I am worried about going any higher unless I get some better cooling. The core temp jumped from 50 to 65c. I guess 3.24 Ghz should be fine for now and it seems stable. The core temp stays retty steady between 40-51c at this clock speed. Hell I should be happy with it for a good time. Any Ideas on a better cooling system than what I have? The one in the case is same as Thermaltake Big Water, I think.

A thermalright ultra 120-extreme should allow you to step in at 3.6GHz stable and within a reasonable temperature range.

Better than a good custom watercooling kit ? Nope.
But better than "bulky" kits like the ThermalTake bigwater, coolermaster, etc.
