K the new rig i just built... is gettin on my nerves right now...
Everything seems fine in 2d land... once in 3d gaming... my Americasarmy 2.8.1 game will freeze the whole system within half an hour of play... The same freeze/crash happened when i tried to play The Lost Planet DX9 on XP...
By taking a guess... id say it looks like either the nVidia sucky 8series drivers not stable ( latest from nVidia site 158.22Whql... no driver corruption since i cleaned it with DriverCleaner before i installled it ) OOOOR maybe i dont have enough power for the gts and this new mobo/cpu.... but I doubt it.... Enermax 460W with a single 12v rail of 33Amps i think should be fine... though im using an adapter for the 6pin power connector for vidcard... and also adapter for 20 -> 24pin mobo connection ( adapter that came with the Power supply itself)
The system giving me the same crashes while gaming in stock cpu and gpu speeds... I tried to bring the cpu to 3.0ghz but no it didnt help either
though cpu seems stable...
Looks like my fears coming true... coz i hesitated so much in gettin a nvidia specially 8 series card... knowing their driver situation... I thot they came out with new whql drivers a couple weeks ago... but the latest in their site shows March date... im confused. ATI OWNS!
jk ANy ideas any1? I am so unlucky never had a trouble free new build... i thoughtt this was it untill i tried the gaming part..
PCI-e Frequency =103
vcore 1.375v
vmem 1.9v tried 2.0 and auto, same results
Temps cpu 40 idle... 55-60 full load (orthos max temp was 63C)
GPU temp 60C idle 68C load gaming... is this too much?
EDIT: another guess comes into mind... Maybe since im using the XP installation from my old MSI Neo2 plat system... u think I should format it? could that cause these problems? I did an XP repair after i had removed every single chipset and device drivers of my old mobo... then installed sp2 again then the p5k drivers and then the Nvidia drivers after i cleaned it with DriverCleaner anythin that was left from before.
Any ideas??
