I have the Asus P5k-E Wifi along with the Antec 900. Am I supposed to plug anything into the front panel audio connectors (9pin on mobo) to get sound? I want to use the motherboard's onboard sound ports and not the chassis sound port.

I can't hear anything with nothing plugged into those connectors. However, if I plug in the 9 pin connector, I can get sound from the front connectors, but only a little sound from the motherboard audio ports. I can only hear a very faint sound when cranked full volume.

Drivers are up to date and speakers work fine.

What am I doing wrong?

You should be able to run both - See page 2-32 of the manual and 4-24 for bios settings
