I will use the P5E-VM in a Microfly SX6 case with an E8400 CPU.
I just have to choose my RAM (most components already ordered).
I don't intend to OC, probably not too wise in a tiny uATX case.
So my RAM (2x1GB DDR2-800) choices are Ballistix (BL2KIT12864AA804); Corsair XMS2 (TWIN2X2048-6400C4); GeIL (GX22GB6400UDCA).
I am kind of tending towards the Geil because I saw customer reviews saying that they got it running at 800MHz CAS 4 with 2V, while for the corsair it seems to run stable at 2.1V, and the ballistix at 2.2V. Considering the build will have limited airflow I was thinking that a lower voltage will translate to a lower temp, and therefore lower risk of the RAMs going bad after a while. Am I right to take this into consideration?
Only concern with Geil is that it's not listed among tested RAMs at the Asus website ... I know that probably doesn't mean much, but I didn't see any user mentioning combining the 2. Should I even give that a second thought?
I guess in a few words, my question is Geil or something else?
Thanxs
