P5E sound problem?

Hi,

I recently upgraded to the P5E and noticed that I can only get stereo sound (2 channel). I am able to get full 5.1 using the analog connections from the SupremeFX II card, but the optical doesn't seem to be working properly.

I have searched for quite a while and have found nothing that has helped.

Would anyone happen to know the cause and solution?

The P5E won't do Dolby Digital Live or DTS Connect(not many motherboards will). You can still pass 5.1 for playing DVDs etc. For gaming you will have to either add a sound card or use the ananlog connectors to get 5.1.
